Resolved Question: Do you think US should recognize the GENOCIDE of Armenia?
During 1st WW (1915), Turkey has slaughtered and killed (or coordinated different actions aiming at the destruction of essential foundations of the life of) 1.5 million Armenians. (More at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_genocide) --- My question is, should such a monstrous action stay unpunished? It is due to this and such same action that genocides happened/are happening throughout the history. For example during 2nd WW 6,000,000 Jews, very recently in Georgia - 2000 Osetians, and millions more. every this because, economically and militarily strong countries like US close eyes to such events. If you agree with me, please join me and thousand others on http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21253084/from/et/ and cast your vote on one of countries most popular Live Voting sites whether US should acknowledge the Armenian Genocide. Thank you.

Resolved Question: Should I marry a woman 6 yrs. older, diff. religion, diff race if my whole family opposes the marriage?
I'm about to turn 29 this month and my girlfriend just turned 35. I'm Mexican & Catholic and she's Armenian & Christian. She was married at the age of 21 to a man twice her age and has been engaged once after that. We have been together for about 6 months. Her family is moving back to Armenia this summer, so I would like to receive married before her family leaves. I had lied to my family about her age and said she was only 3 years older than me (when she's really 6 years older). My mom confronted me about her age, so I told her the truth about everything--her age and her past marriage. My parents don't want me to propose to her, because they say I have not know her that long. They want me to wait at least a year, but I told them I would only delay the proposal one more month and that I was going to marry her whether they supported me or not. Please give me your opinion on this situation.

Resolved Question: Iranians/Persians please?
OK this thing started very recently: Its every over YouTube, and its every over the internet: blogs mailing lists etc I am seeing that Iranian/Persian teenagers increasingly are turning into European-wannabes by acting, talking and even pretending to be them... They back this foolishness up with the excuse of "we are Aryan, so we should be with our fellow caucasians". Note that as I look in youtube, some extreme adherents of this belief go as far as to propose a racist "aryan brotherhood" between Iran, Germany, Armenia etc..... To tell the truth I am ashamed by these fanatics. Whats the point of forming some race-based nationalistic union when those whom we call "fellow aryans" from Europe actually dont consider us Aryans? stupid racist videos against particular race groups are every over Youtube, anyone with a little dark skin is considered as "non-aryan" Truth be told, Aryan actually refers to a group of Indo-Iranian, Indo European group which extends to too wide a scale among too many different cultures to form a "race-based" union. its not just what is now considered "white people", "caucasoid" actually even refers to places as far as Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, meaning dark skinned bengalis and vedics are aryan as well... What is disgusting is the fact that white skin is seen as the primary things defining heritage. I have a white skin colour, I am tall and what you call Aryan... but I look 100% different from any european or Indian or Arab, I am persian I want to be myself and follow my culture and not beg for food from some other culture I am totally unrelated with. I can be considered white in America for how I look, but in reality I am not Euro-white and I will never want to be Say no to white nationalism...Pan-aryanism is foolish I hate people in my country who embarass me with this racist nonsense... Black or white, arab or chinese, indian or european, dark skinned or light skinned, we should every be ourselves, yet treat each other equally What do you think? @first answerer, great answer thank you.....yes I know Hitler's beliefs are refuted 100 times over by both Anthropological scholars and ordinary people. Aryans actually include Indians too, something people dont like to accept just because most of them are dark. This is so wrong

Resolved Question: Have I broken any visa rules or regulations?
I was a high school exchange student in Virginia 8 years ago and I had a J-1 visa. then I got accepted to college in the States and went back with an F-1 visa, but the guy who was going to sponsor me to study went bankrupt and could not pay for my education. I was supposed to enroll in January (that's the dates my I-20 forms were sent for) so I called the school and told them about my situation they said they had already scheduled for me to enroll in May so I had enough time to look for finances or scholarships. I did not have any luck so I came back to my country (Armenia) in the begining of May. This was every 6 years ago, so last year I went to the American EMbassy here to receive a visa to go to the States and visit old friends and they refused to give me a visa without explaining anything. I am just wondering if it's because of some rules and regulations I might have broken ...or it's just them being bastards??!!! they stamped D/S (duration of status) in my passport when I entered the STates and when I left in may they didnt stamp anything else. whats is section 214b about???

Voting Question: Ancient Caucasus History overrated?
I'm looking for any web links to articles offering a competing argument to the Out-of-the-Caucasus ancient origins of civilization theory - assuming that idea to include out-of-Anatolia, Armenia and any other nearby locations. Are there any theories out there saying that the Caucasus, and close East in general simply weren't anywhere close as significant as they have been made out? Is there any possibility that this idea might be a meme, a mind virus that has grown out of every proportion to actual history? Anything at every - no matter how off the wall?

Voting Question: Help with word choice?
Help me with a little word choice? "Both of these experiences instilled a ((((consciousness against genocide)))) in me, which is why, when I heard about Darfur, I immediately became involved in the anti-genocide movement." And what's another way to say "less-known," like, e.g. the less-known genocide in Armenia?

Voting Question: Serious? - what race?
I need to know if I am telling the truth on a scholarship application. You tell me... My dad was born in South America, came here as a child and became a citizen that way, but his parents are from Peru and Armenia. My mom was born in Canada, and became an American citizen when I was a child. They both have whitish skin... so does this make me white? I am like the relax of americans that are Heinz 59 or 57 or whatever, but I am trying to receive money for school and need to know the low-down on this. Time is of the essence on this one.

Resolved Question: Are the Hadiths reliable or is it possible that Muhammed copied Greek Myths?
In Greek mythology, Pegasus was a winged horse that was the son of the Greek god Poseidon, and the Gorgon Medusa originating from the Parthian Empire which was an Iranian civilization originating in the northeastern part of modern Iran. The Parthian Empire existed for over four hundred years from around 150 B.C. to around 224 A.D. and at its height it covered every of Iran proper, as well as regions of the modern countries of Armenia, Iraq, Georgia, eastern Turkey, eastern Syria, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Kuwait, the Persian Gulf, the coast of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine and the UAE. 400 years later Muhammed travels to heaven on Buraq, a"mythical creature" as described in wikipedia. The tardy Makkan scholar Muhammad al-Alawi al-Maliki mentions in his book "al-Anwar al Bahiyya min isra wal miraj khayr al bariyya", about the Buraq : "....Then he(Jibreel/Gabriel) brought the Buraq, handsome-faced and bridled, a tall, white beast....... He had two wings on his thighs which lent strength to his legs. He bucked when the Prophet came to mount him. Jibril put his hand on his mane and said: "Are you not ashamed, O Buraq? By Allah, no-one has ridden you in every creation more dear to Allah than he is." Hearing this he was so ashamed that he sweated until he became soaked, and he stood still so that the Prophet mounted him." This sounds too coincidental to me. Again, are the Hadiths reliable? Bukhari 58. 227 ..........Then a white animal which was smaller than a mule and bigger than a donkey was brought to me." (On this Al-Jarud asked, "Was it the Buraq, O Abu Hamza?" I (i.e. Anas) replied in the affirmative). The Prophet said, "The animal's step (was so wide that it) reached the farthest point within the reach of the animal's sight. I was carried on it, and Gabriel set out with me till we reached the nearest heaven.
